As Michigan's largest commercial banking firm, we finance retail, multi-family, office, industrial, mobile home communities, and self storage properties in Michigan and across the country. Despite the unprecedented credit crunch experienced over the past 4 years, BFG has continued to grow its clientele base. Our broad spectrum of capital sources enables us to finance transactions ranging from $1 million to more than $100 million. In fact, over the past few months, we successfully financed Michigan’s first conduit loan in over three years, a $42 million class A office building transaction in Troy. In addition, we have closed multiple other CMBS transactions for several product types.
Our direct, and often times, exclusive relationships with decision makers on Wall Street and at life companies across the country has enabled us to “tell the story” of each deal, increasing the likelihood of obtaining financing, and leading to successful outcomes for our clients. Our loan process is thorough. Each loan is underwritten in-house and is reviewed by our entire loan production staff before it is presented to our lenders. We are able to quickly provide our clients with realistic feedback as to whether or not their deal is financeable.

Kevin Kovachevich - Senior Vice President
Kevin serves as a loan producer for Bernard Financial Group. Kevin began his tenure with Bernard Financial in January of 2000 as the firm’s loan analyst. He quickly advanced to loan production and has been doing so since 2004. In this time, Kevin has become one of the top producing mortgage brokers in Michigan. In 2010, Kevin was awarded Crain’s 40 under 40 distinction as a top business person under 40 years of age. In his 6 years of loan production, Kevin has been a part of numerous originations with a wide array of lending institutions including life insurance companies, agency lenders (FNMA/HUD), securitized lenders, commercial banks, pension funds and private equity firms.
Prior to joining Bernard Financial Group, Kevin was a commercial loan officer with JP Morgan. Kevin graduated Michigan State University with a BA in Finance. Kevin is happily married to his long time love Danielle and together they have 4 children Jake, Ben, Luke, and Lana.
Neil Gorosh - Senior Vice President
Neil Gorosh is part of the loan production team with Bernard Financial Group. Neil is a graduate of the University of Michigan from which he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History (cum laude) in 1977 and a Juris Doctor Degree from Wayne State University Law School in 1980. In the nearly fifteen years during which he has been with Bernard Financial Group, Mr. Gorosh has originated in excess of $1.0 billion in loans with a wide variety of life insurance companies, agency lenders (FNMA and HUD) securitized lenders and commercial banks.
Dave Dismondy - Vice President
Dave serves as a loan producer and underwriter for Bernard Financial Group. Dave was born and raised locally in Plymouth and graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance. He began his career in Arizona as a financial analyst for Intel Corporation where he managed an annual budget of $700MM, led a team of 26 analysts at 13 worldwide computer microprocessor factories, and identified and implemented a project that saved the company $4MM. Upon his father’s diagnosis with cancer, Dave moved back to Michigan to be close to family. Since 2005, Dave has underwritten and originated residential and commercial real estate loans, brokered transactions, and invested in projects in Southeast Michigan. Since joining Bernard Financial group, Dave has passionately refined his skill set under the tutelage of Dennis, Kevin, Neil, and other senior loan producers. Adrienne Hatzenbeler - Closing Manager
Adrienne is the Closing Manager for Bernard Financial Group. She joined the company in January of 2005, has over 9 years combined mortgage lending experience, and has closed over $2 billion in loans for Bernard Financial Group. She works with Lenders, Attorneys, and Third Parties to make the closing process seamless to our Borrower. She is well versed in the closing systems of all Lenders including but not limited to Conduit, Life Insurance Companies, DUS Lenders, and Banks.
Justin Hollis - Senior Underwriter
Justin serves as the Senior Underwriter for Bernard Financial Group. Prior to becoming our Senior Underwriter, Justin gained industry experience as our Portfolio Manager for four years with Bernard Financial Servicing Group. Justin graduated from Grand Valley State University with honors in 2007 with a BA in Finance and is currently pursuing a MBA at Walsh College.
Tiffany Laveirge - Office Manager
Tiffany has been with Bernard Financial Group Since June 2011. She is responsible for making sure the office runs effectively by managing the phones, copy and mail rooms. She is also responsible for monthly invoicing, payment posting and processing. Tiffany is currently attending Oakland Community College working towards her Business Management Degree.
